Question: Maui, Hawaii suggestions and advice?

Answer #1:
SW is right, Makena or Wailea are both good. Makena Beach & Golf Resort is a lovely (and romantic!!) place to stay (quite reasonably priced too) with a private beach literally a minute's walk from the hotel. You can book snorkeling and scuba diving at the hotel & the boat will pick you up ON THE BEACH. You can only parasail if it NOT whale watching season. You will need to rent a car because cabs will be too expensive and the public transportation isn't all that great.
Definitely check out Flyin Hawaiian Zipline if you like adventure, and a luau for romance.
Answer #2:
We are Maui pros. We have been many times but we also got married in Kapalua. North Maui is our favorite. You have Ka'anapali ( kinda busy and popular ), Napili and Kapalua. The place we got married was awesome but they tore it down. I would say to stay in Napili (unless you like fancy resorts) There are many small, mellow paces to stay right on the water. There is alot of snorkeling and other activaties. The Napili Kai is right on a beach and is the closest to where we got married. My mom swears on Napili Point (Right on a great turtle snorkle place). This is our favorite area. The weather is always good, it's a short drive to Lahaina for night life and restaraunts, it has awesome views of Malakai and other Small Islands. I hope this helps. Have fun!Answer #3:
Since you want romantic, then I would suggest Wailea. Wailea is alot less crowded than Kaanapali. Wailea also has the best luxury hotels on the Island like The Grand Waiela, The Four Seasons, and The Fairmont Kea Lani. There is also a Marriot which is plenty nice but not quite as luxurious. The Grand Wailea has alot of families with children running aroud so I would not suggest there. The Four Seasons I would say has the least kids out of all the hotels on Wailea. The Fairmont Kea Lani has more families and kids than the Four Seasons but that amount is nothing compared to The Grand Wailea. At The Fairmont their are some adult only areas/pools. I do not know much about the Marriot. I would suggest either The Four Seasons or The Fairmont Kea Lani. The only problem with Wailea is that there is not much night life or even any life. The only shops around are the Shops at Waiela. Other than that, you'll have to take a 40-50 minute drive to Kaanapali. However, I would suggest Wailea over Kaanaplai because it is more romantic and more luxurious.** Powered by Yahoo Answers
